CANADA: Defending Champion Chris Kyle trails for the first time in his Canadian Series career at St. Eustache

Chris Kyle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Tim Hortons Candian Series career in Tuesday's National 250 Presented by Public Mobile at the Autodrome St. Eustache when his #27 La Cite De Mirabel Inc. Dodge completed all 25 laps under power.

The finish came in his 33rd career series start. In the SCRL Tim Hortons Candian Series, it's the 1st for car #27 and the 13th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 7th for the #27 and the 326th for running at the finish.

Entering Season 3, Kyle has already established himself as a future SCRL Hall of Famer, having been one of the longest active drivers in league history, picked up 11 career wins over various series, and finally became a Champion in Season 2 of this series, and was looking to come back and win it for a second time, driving for Dave Jacombs. Kyle's season got off to a great start, finishing runner up to Noelle Holiday at CTMP before finishing a lackluster 11th at Delaware. A 6th at CTMP Oval would be followed by a 10th at ICAR, 13th at Motoplex before finishing 3rd in the last round at Auto Clearing.

The entry list for the fifth time this season would be 20 as only the full time drivers would be competing with the part-time drivers not scheduled to return until Trois-Rivieres in the next event.

In qualifying, rookie Brandon Mayhew scored his first career pole, posting a time of 18.490 seconds. Kyle would struggle in qualifying around the 0.400 mile short track, posting a time of 18.823, 0.333 seconds off Mayhew's time, it would place Kyle 12th on the grid. Starting last in the race was the #09 Lake Excavating / EMCO Waterworks Dodge of Omar Gutierrez, who posted the slowest time of 19.012, 0.522 seconds behind Mayhew's pole winning time.

For the first time since CTMP, no driver would drop to the rear of the field when the green flag waved as Gutierrez Fox would trail the field for the first two laps before knocking two time last-place finisher the #29 La Cite De Mirabel Inc. Dodge of Roger James into last on Lap 3. James would trail for two laps as well before he would pass and knocked the #66 Quaker State Dodge of Dilan Ebrahimian into last on Lap 5. Ebrahimian was determined to not finish last and just two laps later he knocked the #51 Prairie Dodge Dealers Dodge of Nick Kennedy into the final spot on Lap 7. Kennedy would trail for three laps before Kyle, who was trapped on the outside line, had fallen back to last on Lap 10. Unfortunately for Kyle, unknown to him the battle for last ended on Lap 10, as with no cautions flying during the event or another driver having any problems, Kyle would trail for the remaining fifteen laps, falling more then nine seconds behind the race leader when the checkered flag waved.

The remaining Bottom Five were: 19th was the aforementioned #51 of Nick Kennedy, 18th was the #09 of Omar Gutierrez, 17th was the #29 of Roger James and 16th was the #66 of Dilan Ebrahimian.
