ARCA Trucks: Rookie Chakat Duskwatcher picks up first career last-place finish in caution free race at Toledo; becomes 5th different chakat to trail an SCRL race

Chakat Duskwatcher picked up the 1st last place finish of hir SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in Tuesday's Season 2 ARCATRUCKRACING.com 50 at the Toledo Speedway when hir #72 Big Blue Dodge completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in hir 8th start. In the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, it's the 3rd for truck #72 and the 12th where the truck was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 9th for the #72 and the 255th where the vehicle was still running.

Chakat Duskwatcher
Duskwatcher is the most recent chakat to come compete in the SCRL, looking to follow in the paw steps of other chakats who have found success in the SCRL like Goldstrike, Silverpaw, Lightingblaze and of course the all time race winner and 6 time former champion Whitelion. Duskwatcher had previously raced in the Formula 2 division where shi scored a best finish of 2nd at Catalunya and would go on to finish 11th in the final point standings. Coming "back across the pond" to race in the United States, Duskwatcher was signed on to compete in the ARCA's division second highest series despite only competing in 13 previous races. Duskwatcher picked up right where shi left off with a 5th place finish in hir debut at Toledo, 12th at Kil-Kare, 3rd at Nashville before scoring a runner up finish to Whitelion at Lanier. A disappointing 19th at Flat Rock would slow hir momentum briefly before shi would rebound with a 7th at Salem before finishing 22nd in the last round at Oxford Plains, hir worse finish of the season so far.

In qualifying, Duskwatcher would struggle to gain any speed, posting a time of 19.809, 0.630 seconds behind Zachary Fitzwater Jr.'s pole winning time, placing Duskwatcher 24th on the grid while starting last was the #89 of Cassie Dent, 0.820 seconds behind Fitzwater Jr.'s pole time.

Dent's stay in the final spot would last one lap as she knocked Duskwatcher into last on the very next lap, a position Duskwatcher would hold for two laps before knocking the #26 Coyote Entertainment Chevrolet of Derrick Jones into the final spot on Lap 4. Jones wasn't sticking around to be last for long as he knocked the Oxford Plains last-place finisher the #50 Corona Extra / Goosebumps Ford of Jimmy Potter into last on Lap 5, a spot he would hold for two laps before knocking Cassie back into last on Lap 7. Dent would trail for two laps as well before she passed Potter on Lap 9. The trend of two laps in last would continue with Potter trailing till Lap 12 when he knocked the unsponsored #17 Chevrolet of Connor Hurley into last on Lap 12.

Hurley would remain in last for just one lap before he knocked the #82 Champion Chevrolet of Sierra Albaugh into last, a position he would hold for the next three laps before knocking Hurley back into last on Lap 17. Hurley would try hard over the next two laps to gain a spot and finally would in Turn 3 coming to the white flag as he knocked Duskwatcher back into last, and despite hir trying hir best, Duskwatcher was unable to gain a spot back and would trail for the first time in hir short career.

The remaining Bottom Five were: 25th was the #89 of Cassie Dent, 24th was the #17 of Connor Hurley, 23rd was the #82 of Sierra Albaugh and 22nd was the #21 unsponsored Chevrolet of Mike Pearson.
