ARCA: Flat tire with two laps to go at Iowa gives Becky Dent the first last-place finish of her career

Becky Dent picked up the 1st last place finish of her SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Prairie Meadows 150 at the Iowa Speedway when her #68 Jones Group / Clarksville Schwinn & Cyclery Ford completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in her 12th start. In the SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series, it's the 2nd for car #68 and the 14th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 3rd for the #68 and the 265th where the vehicle was still running.

Becky was looking to continue the streak of the Dent family showing talent and keeping for championships after Ty and Taylor became the first Dent family members to race all the way back in the then ONL Classic Truck Series. Becky finished a disappointing 37th in her SCRL debut at Daytona, 14th at Atlanta, 11th at Nashville, 21st at Salem, 29th at Talladega, 30th at Charlotte, 24th at Gateway, before scoring her first top ten finish, a 7th at Pocono before scoring a series best 3rd at Chicagoland. A 18th at Lucas Oil and 11th in the last round at Kentucky would keep Becky far down in the points with eight races to go left in the season.

In qualifying, Dale Guthrie scored his second career series pole with a time of 24.105 seconds, while Becky posted a time of 24.320 seconds, 0.215 behind Guthrie's pole run, placing Becky 17th on the grid while starting last was the unsponsored #54 Kurzejewski Motorsports Dodge of Arina McShane.

McShane would trail for the first two laps around the 0.875 mile short track before she knocked Pocono last-place finisher the #19 Battomi-Lawton Insurance Dodge of Sebastian Cucalon into the final spot on Lap 3. Cucalon would be in last for just one lap when he knocked McShane back into last on the next Lap on Lap 4. McShane this time would trail for two laps when she knocked the #32 811 Call Before You Dig / Diamond Equipment Toyota of Chris Kyle into last on the 7th lap. Kyle would remain in last for the next few laps when the first caution of the night came out, when the green came back out, Kyle knocked the #1 ModSpace Ford of Truttle into last on Lap 13. Truttle would remain in last for two laps before knocking the #16 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet of Tim Randolph into last just as the second and final caution came out.

When the race was riding around under yellow, Becky, who was running in 18th at that time, began to slow going down the backstretch and pulled onto pit road, the victim of a flat left front tire. The Kimmel Racing team would quickly put four fresh tires on their car before sending her back out onto the track with the race being given a one lap shootout, with Becky trying hard to gain a spot over the final lap but was unable to.

The remaining Bottom Five were; 39th was the #9 Aaron's / Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet of Tom Schmidt, 38th was the aforementioned #16 of Tim Randolph, 37th was the #44 Ansell / Menards Toyota of Riley Spurlytube and 36th was the unsponsored #69 Kimmel Racing Ford of Ray Dent Jr.
