ARCA Sportsman: Dilan Ebrahimian trails in caution free race at Milwaukee; picks up only the 3rd last-place finish of his SCRL career

Dilan Ebrahimian picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Sportsman Series career in the Milwaukee 200 at the Milwaukee Mile when his #29 Snap-On / Whelen Chevrolet completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 10th start. In the SCRL ARCA Sportsman Series, it's the 1st for car #29 and the 7th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 3rd for the #29 and the 266th where the vehicle was still running.

Entering the ARCA Series's brand newest division, Ebrahimian was entering just his third ever full time season in a series after having competed in the SCRL Whelen Southern Modified Tour, the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series before competing in the SCRL Formula 3 Series, and it was at Monza that Ebrahimian was finally able to visit victory lane for the first time in his career, and would finish 14th in the overall point standings. Ebrahimian traveled back to the United States with a lot of momentum and was hoping to carry that over to the success on the ovals. In his first start for the series, Ebrahimian struggle to a 24th at Toledo, 21st at Mansfield, 24th at Heartland Park, before scoring a runner up finish in back-to-back races at Lucas Oil and Iowa. A 8th at Rockingham would prove his finishes weren't a fluke, but he would struggle the next race with a 18th at Winchester before scoring back-to-back 10th finishes at Palm Beach and at I-70 in the last round.

In qualifying at the legendary one mile track, Dilan's would struggle to fine much speed during his qualifying lap, putting up a speed of 114.489mph (31.444 seconds), nearly a full four hundredths of a second off Muhammad Zain Abdullah's pole run, which would be his second of the year. This secured Dilan the 17th spot on Wednesday’s grid. Starting 29th and last in Wednesday’s race was the #66 Lincoln Welders / Bojangles' Dodge of Daryl Lee, posting a time of 31.751, a full half second behind Abdullah's pole time.

Lee's stay in the final spot would last for only two turns as he knocked the #84 Goulds Pumps / Jani-King Ford of Ryan Rush into the final spot. Rush's stay in last would last only one lap as he knocked the #55 IWX Racing / Jesel Chevrolet of Bulldog67 into the final spot on lap 2. Bulldog67 would remain in the final spot for two laps around the one mile track before knocking Ryan back into last on Lap 4. Rush again was determined to not finish last for the first time in over a year, and knocked Bulldog back to last on Lap 5. Bulldog would remain in the final spot for the next few laps, riding around and learning from the drivers in front of him before making his move, knocking Lee back into last on Lap 13. By this point Dilian had fallen back in the running order and the the grasps of last place as the race entered it's final ten laps, and with five laps to go, Lee made a move in Turn 3 and knocked Dilian into last, and as hard as Dilian tried, he was unable to get back around the drivers in front of him and would fall a car length short of the car in front of him.

The remaining Bottom Five were: 28th was Mansfield last-place finisher the #24 Pepsi / DuPont Chevrolet of Carlos Santiago, 27th was the aforementioned #66 of Daryl Lee, 26th was the #52 Fel-Pro Performance Gaskets Ford of Nitahbk and 25th was the #55 of Bulldog67.
