CANADA: Cassie Dent trails the field in caution free race at Riverside; Carter Joey secures SCRLASTCAR Championship with one race to go

Cassie Dent picked up the 1st last place finish of her SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series career in the Season 2 Wilson Equipment 300 at the Riverside Speedway when her #09 Lake Excavating Dodge completed all 30 laps under power.

The finish came in her 11th career start. In the SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series, it's the 1st for car #09 and the 7th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 4th for the #09 and the 157th for running at the finish.

Cassie is the newest member of the Dent family to join the SCRL, after Ty and TJ Dent having been competing on and off the the last few years, with the brothers scoring their lone wins in the SCRL in one of the original series, the ONL Classic Trucks Series, with TJ winning at Chicagoland and Ty winning the series last ever race at Homestead before the series was discontinued in favor of the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series. Cassie made her Canadian Series at CTMP, finishing 11th. A finish of 21st at ICAR, 20th at CTMP Oval, 27th at Delaware, before scoring her first Top 5, a 5th at Motoplex. A 20th at Edmonton, 14th at Saskatoon, 12th at Trois-Rivieres, 11th at Montreal followed until in the last round at Barrie, she scored the best finish of her career, a 3rd at Barrie.

On race day, Cassie would roll off starting 23rd while starting last was the #11 Jiffy Car Wash / Watchfinder.ca Chevrolet of Olivia Dick but by the time the drivers had gotten to Turn 3 the #15 Bill Mathews Motors Ford of Bafode Sacko had fallen back to the final spot. Sacko would trail the field for the first two laps when two-time last-place finisher the #36 VR Victoriaville Dodge of Carter Joey took the final spot on Lap 3. Joey would be in last for two laps as well when the #69 Lake Excavating / EMCO Waterworks Dodge of Ty Dent fell back into the final spot on Lap 5.

Dent would remain in the final spot for the next seven laps before he finally was able to rebound and knocked Joey back into the final spot. Joey would trail the field once again for six laps when he knocked Ty back into the final spot on Lap 20. Ty would remain in the final spot for the next three laps until he knocked his sister in law into the final spot on Lap 24. As hard as she tried, Cassie was unable to gain in spots over the last six laps, almost being lapped by the race leader Chakat Whitelion, who would scored hir historic 27th career win, which ties hir with Truttle for the most wins in league history.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who finish the race on the same lap as the race leaders: 26th was the #60 Mopar / Exide / Mobil 1 Dodge of Samet Ozkan, 25th was the #69 of Ty Dent, 24th was the #36 of Carter Joey and 28th was the #15 of Bafode Sacko.

Entering the last race of the season at Kawartha, the battle for the SCRLASTCAR Championship is officially over as Carter Joey has two last-place finishes and even if Mitchell Collins, Nick Kennedy, Brian Fox, Sylas Nixey, Grayson Acevedo, Cassie Dent, Leroy Jones, Eli Bright or Riley Spurlytube finished last, they would lose the tie-breaker as Joey has 5 Bottom Five finishes and 7 Bottom Ten finishes, with Collins having the closest, 3 Bottom Five and 5 Bottom Ten, officially knocking him and every other driver out of the championship. So officially your Season 2 SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series SCRLASTCAR Driver's Champion is Carter Joey.
