Shaker Memorial: Pritti Shah involved in multi-car crash in league debut in Shaker Memorial race at Atlanta

Pritti Shah picked up the 1st last place finish of her Shaker Memorial Race career in the 3rd Annual Shaker Memorial Race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway when her #01 U.S. Army Chevrolet was involved in a multi-car crash after 3 of the 33 laps.

The finish came in her 1st career start. The Shaker Memorial Race began in 2015 when the dog of this blog's author, Shaker, passed away in 2015, in her honor, a yearly race is held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the closest track to where she lived, with drivers completing in a one race showdown to see who is the best. The entry list for the 3rd annual, but 4th running of the event, was for the first time a 42 car field, with Truttle being the only former winner of this event in the field.

On race day, Pritti Shah would roll off starting in the 4th spot while the #07 Jack Daniels Chevrolet of Riley Spurlytube would start in the final spot. Spurlytube's stay would be brief as he knocked the #11 FedEx Express Chevrolet of Evan Hunter into the last spot and as the field came out of Turn 4 to complete Lap 2 the #17 DeWalt Power Tools Ford of Matt Hamill crossed the line in last when chaos broke out. Drivers entered Turn 4 four wide, running out of room and causing a chain reaction as a "big one" struck after only two laps. Shah was hit four times during the wreck, her car completely destroyed, stalled in Turn 1 and done for the day.

Finishing 41st through 39th were drivers involved in the same wreck and was scored on the same lap as Shah, but placed higher due to limping back around to the garage; 41st was the #89 Victory In Jesus / Red Line Oil Dodge of Ryan Pritchard, 40th was the aforementioned #07 of Riley Spurlytube and finished 39th was the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet of Joe Jefferson.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 38th was the #91 McDonald's Dodge of reigning SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series Champion Chakat Whitelion, who suffered engine problems while riding around the track during the caution.
