Rebecca Zeal picked up the 1st last place finish of her SCRL Short Track Division career in Monday's Season 1 Race 1 at the Dayton Speedway when her #17 Carling Dodge completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in her 1st career start. In the SCRL Short Track Division, it's the 1st for car #17 and the 1st for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 11th for the #17 and the 329th for running at the finish.

The SCRL Short Track Division would be a secondary series run under the SCRL Grand National Series that would both be run using the 1951 NASCAR season and point system with a few modifications.

In qualifying, Chakat Blackpaw would win hir first career series pole, posting a time of 18.074 seconds. Zeal would struggle around the half mile short track, posting a time of 18.427 seconds, 0.353 seconds behind Blackpaw's pole, which placed her 20th on the starting lineup. Starting last in the race was the #11 Dodge Boys Dodge of Dilan Ebrahimian, who posted the slowest time of 18.677, 0.603 seconds behind Blackpaw's pole winning time.

On race day, Ebrahimian would trail for the first few corners before knocking the #9 Coors Ford of Bailey Leigh into last as Leigh would trail for the first lap before knocking Ebrahimian back to last on Lap 2. Ebrahimian would trail for the next three laps before knocking Leigh back to last on Lap 6. Leigh would trail in the final spot until Lap 11 when she knocked the #75 Hershey's Chevrolet of Brantley Higdon into last. Higdon, who was making his SCRL debut, would trail for three laps before knocking Zeal back for the last time in her career. Zeal would struggle over the final six laps to gain any progress on the half mile track, falling more than ten seconds behind the race leaders when the checkered flag waved.
