SHORT TRACK: Alexa Lake trails for the first time in her SCRL career in caution free race at Hickory

Alexa Lake picked up the 1st last place finish of her SCRL Short Track Division career in Monday's Season 1 Race 4 at the Hickory Speedway when her #55 Bill-Tin Chevrolet all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in her 4th career start. In the SCRL Short Track Division, it's the 1st for car #55 and the 4th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 8th for the #55 and the 332nd for running at the finish.

Entering the SCRL's newest series, Alexa is a rookie when it comes to the SCRL, having never competed in any series before signing up to compete in this series. Alexa's debut would start off in an impressive way by qualifying 5th and would finish 7th at Dayton, struggling to a 12th at Charlotte before finishing a career best 5th in the last round at Greenville-Pickens.

In qualifying, Chakat Whitelion would win hir first career series pole, posting a time of 15.315 seconds. Alexa would struggle in her fourth ever attempt in qualifying, posting a time of 15.660 seconds, 0.345 seconds behind Whitelion's pole, which placed her 16th on the starting lineup. Starting last in the race was Dayton last-place finisher the #17 Carling Dodge of Rebecca Zeal, who posted the slowest time of 15.858, 0.543 seconds behind Whitelion's pole winning time.

On race day, Zeal would struggle around the half mile track, trailing for the first two laps before knocking the #57 Dew Drop Inn Ford of Chase Miller into last on Lap 3. Miller would only trail for two laps himself before knocking the #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet of Austin Greenwood into last on Lap 5. Trailing for the first time in his SCRL career, Greenwood would trail for five laps before knocking the #9 Coors Ford of Bailey Leigh to last on Lap 10. Leigh was determined to not trail the field for the first time in her career, as her stay in last was only one lap before knocking the #98 Super America Ford of Amber Mayhew to last on Lap 11.

Amber would trail for two laps before knocking Zeal back to last on Lap 14. Zeal would lose touch briefly with the drivers in front of her, falling more than half a second behind, before picking it up over the final laps and just before the drivers took the white flag, she would knock Alexa back to last, and despite Alexa trying hard to pass Zeal over the final lap, she ran out of time, giving Alexa the final spot.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 21st was the aforementioned #17 of Rebecca Zeal, 20th was the #74 unsponsored Chevrolet of John Joseph, 19th was the #98 of Amber Mayhew and 18th was the #3 of Austin Greenwood.
