Throwback TRUCKS: Bulldog67 becomes the first driver to trail back-to-back truck races after early crash at Heartland Park

Bulldog67 picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Season 1 Heartland Tailgate 175 at the Heartland Park Topeka when his #58 Wayne Jacks Racing Chevrolet was involved in a multi-truck crash after 2 of the 9 laps.

The finish, which came in his 12th career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Total Petroleum 200 at the Colorado National Speedway when he fell out with camshaft problems after completing 8 of the 25 laps, 1 race ago

After trailing the field at Colorado, Bulldog67 and the Wayne Jacks Racing team was looking for redemption in the truck series first ever road course event at the 1.800 mile road course.

On race day, Bulldog67 started 36th while starting last was the #88 Churchill Motorsports Ford of Luke Rainey. The first lap around the course was rather calm into getting to Turn 10 when a couple trucks spun off track, bringing out a local caution, but not a full course one. As the field came back around to complete the first lap, the #43 Snapper Power Equipment of Josh Nixey went wide in Turn 17 and smacked the outside wall, sending his truck for a spin toward the inside of the track at the same time Bulldog67 was attempting to pass, running into the backend of Nixey's truck, sending Nixey for another brief spin. While the hit didn't look bad, the radiator had been damaged and Bulldog67 limped back to pit road and then behind the wall, done for the day.

Finishing 39th was Bulldog67's long time NASCAR Legends rival the #31 Performance Race Cars Chevrolet of Truttle, who hit the Turn 10 wall head on, completely destroying the front end of his truck. A little further up the track, two time last-place finisher the #32 Straight Arrow / Mane 'n Tail Ford Sebastian Torres spun out and hit the Turn 11 wall head on in nearly the same crash as Truttle, Torres was able to limp around for two more laps before pulling into the garage just as the field went back racing.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish a lap down to the race leaders; 37th was the #2 Ultra Custom Wheels / ASE Ford of Josh Barker and 36th was the #74 Mesa Marin Raceway Chevrolet of HIPHOPANOUNMOUS.

Bulldog67 would never find the same success he had found in the NASCAR Legends Series, never scoring a win in the Truck Series, and finishing 40th in the final point standings. Bulldog67 currently sits 6th on the all time win list with 15 career wins.
