Throwback ARCA: Former All time race winner Truttle scores his lone ARCA last-place finish after failing to complete a lap at Chicagoland

Truttle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 Ansell ActivArmr 150 at the Chicagoland Speedway when his #48 Radon.com Ford was involved in a multi-car crash without completing any of the 27 laps.

The finish came in his 12th career start.

Entering Season 1 of the ARCA Series, Truttle had already built up a Hall of Fame career, being the league's inaugural champion in the then ONL NASCAR Legends Series. Truttle had actually participated in the Pre-Season ARCA Series before it was rebranded, winning the second ever race by winning at Mobile. In the rebranded ARCA Series, it wouldn't be until the season's 6th race at Kentucky that Truttle officially made his debut, having signed up to drive for Hylton Motorsports, finishing 35th. A 16th at Pocono, 32nd at Michigan, 8th at Texas, 23rd at NJMP and finally a 14th place finish in the last round at Iowa.

On race day, Truttle rolled off starting 18th while starting off in the final spot was the #5 Lucas Oil Chevrolet of Jay Barker a position that Barker would remain in for the first three turns when chaos broke out in Turn 4. Entering Turn 4, the #20 Coal - America's Energy Toyota of AJ Jones made contact with the #17 unsponsored Roulo Brothers Racing Ford of Tommy Hudson, sending Jones up the track right into the path of Truttle, sending both cars into the outside wall nearly head on, creating a crash that would involved seven drivers as Jones would be able to cross the start/finish line before parking the next lap, while Truttle's car was stopped on the Frontstretch.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who would be involved in the race's second caution on Lap 7: 39th was the #52 Federated Auto Parts Toyota of Aidan Shepherd. 38th was Atlanta last-place finisher the #09 Hudson Performance Drivelines Dodge of Richard Torres and 37th was the #1 ModSpace Ford of Grayson Acevedo.

Truttle's finish at Chicagoland would be the lone last-place finish in his ARCA career, as he would go on to finish 41st, last in points in Season 1 in the championship standings. In Season 2, Truttle would drive his first full time schedule in the ARCA Series, driving for Bobby Gerhart Racing and would score his second and final ARCA Series win at Texas World, and would finish a 8th in the final point standings.
