Zach Borgerding picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in the Season 1 ARCATRUCKRacing.com 100 at the Winchester Speedway when his #8 Gearheart Timber Management Chevrolet completed all 20 laps under power.
The finish came in his 9th career series start.
Borgerding was one of 26 drivers who signed up for the ARCA Series second highest division; the ARCA Truck Series and would be one of several making their first ever attempt in a SCRL Series. Borgerding would finish 9th in his SCRL debut at Toledo, 15th at Mesa Marin, 23rd at Dover, 9th at Bowman Gray, 4th at Gateway, 14th at Eldora, 23rd at Oxford Plains before finishing 5th in the last round at Lanier.
On race day, Borgerding would roll of starting 2nd while starting in the final spot the was the #30 Liuna! Chevrolet of Scott Custer. With the entire race ran without a caution flag, by the time the checkered flag waved, Borgerding had fallen back to the final spot, a full twelve seconds behind the race leaders.
The remaining Bottom Five were; 25th was the #54 Mansfield Welding Service Chevrolet of Mike Pearson, 24th was four time last-place finisher the #20 unsponsored Chevrolet of Anthony Lopez, 23rd was the #91 DeSales U Chevrolet of Chakat Whitelion and 22nd was the unsponsored #17 Chevrolet of Oscar Isaac.
Winchester would be the only race where Borgerding would trail an SCRL sanctioned race and two races later at Rockingham he would score what would be the lone victory of his SCRL career. Borgerding would finish 12th in the season finale at Airborne Speedway in what is his last recorded SCRL sanctioned appearance, as he would go on to finish 11th in the final point standings.
