TRUCKS: Max Anderson trails in caution free race at Watkins Glen; now in three-way tie with most last-place finishes in truck series

Max Anderson picked up the 4th last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Bully Hill Vineyards 150 at the Watkins Glen International when his #83 Gwaltney / FW Siebert Construction Ford completed all 7 laps under power.

The finish, which came in his 62nd career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Season 3 Loadhandler 200 at the Bristol Motor Speedway when his #86 Valvoline Instant Oil Change Ford fell out with engine problems after completing 21 of 50 laps; 55 races ago. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 31st for running at the finish and 4th for the #83. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 121st for running at the finish and the 5th for #83.

After trailing his most recent race, Anderson would finish 10th in points in Season 3 before choosing to not compete in Season 4. Anderson would come back after a year off by choosing to drive for Joe Gaita with hopes of scoring not only his first career series win, but his first overall championship in the SCRL. Anderson's return to racing in the Truck Series would benefit him instantly by finishing 16th at Homestead, before struggling in the next three rounds by finishing 27th at Phoenix, 24th at the series's 100th race at Evergreen and 24th at Mesa Marin. A 13th at Martinsville would be followed by back-to-back 20th place finishes at Memphis and Pikes Peak before getting on a roll by finishing 10th at I-70, 7th at Bristol and 8th at Texas before struggling to finish 31st in the last round at Portland.

The entry list for the fifth time this season would be bumped up to 37 as while Jamie Timber's team have no plans to make anymore starts until the fourteenth race of the season at Nashville Speedway, Blaise Zebrataur's #50 Grainger Ford entry would be entered for the second event of the season. In qualifying, Josh Harmon would score his first career series and league pole, posting a time of 77.838 seconds. Anderson would struggle in qualifying around the twisting 2.450 mile road course, posting a time of 78.950 seconds, 1.112 seconds behind Harmon's time, placing him 35th on the starting line up. The #18 Dana Corporation Dodge of Nathan Ormond would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 78.962 seconds, who was 1.124 seconds behind Harmon's lap time.

On race day, Ormond would trail the first few turns before knocking Anderson into the final spot as Anderson would trail for the first lap, but the next time by Ormond had fallen back to last once again, trailing on Lap 2. Two-time last-place finisher the #26 Mittler Brothers / American Trucking Ford of Derrick Edison would trail on Lap 3 before knocking Anderson once again back to last on Lap 4, with Anderson trailing for the next circuit before knocking the #17 Hastings Premium Filters Ford of Lucien Bianchi into last on Lap 6 as the field took the white flag. Bianchi appeared he was going to finish last for the first time in his career, but he'd fight back in the Inner Loop, passing Anderson and knocking him back to last and would defend his position as Anderson would run out of time and would cross the start/finish line last for the fourth time in his career, 17.927 seconds behind the race leaders.

The remaining Bottom Five were; 36th was the aforementioned #17 of Lucien Bianchi, 35th was the aforementioned #26 of Derrick Edison, 34th was the aforementioned #18 of Nathan Ormond and 33rd was the #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet of Michael Hoaks.

Hilda Pierson picked up the 2nd last place finish of her SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Grainger Industrial Supply 225K at the Portland International Raceway when her #04 Chelsea Dodge completed all 19 laps under power.

The finish, which came in her 11th career series start, was her first on the circuit since the Florida Dodge Dealers 400K at the Miami-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex when she was eliminated in a multi-truck accident after 2 of 19 laps; 10 races ago. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 30th for running at the finish and 3rd for the #04. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 120th for running at the finish and the 5th for #04.

Finishes of 9th at Bristol and a 28th in the last round at Texas had placed Pierson 29th in points as the series headed to the first road course event of the season.

The entry list for the eighth time this season would be the usual 36 as Jamie Timber's team have no plans to make any more starts until the fourteenth race of the season at Nashville Speedway, and due to the size of the track, no driver would fail to qualify at Portland. The #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Dilan Ebrahimian would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 82.886 seconds, who was 2.141 seconds behind Hodack's lap time.

On race day, Dilan Ebrahimian would trail the first lap before he would knock the #15 Ortho Ford of Sébastien Palmer into the final spot on Lap 2. As the field entered Turn 1, Pierson, who had worked her way up to 31st position, would run into the back of the #14 Circle Bar Motel & RV Park Ford of Michael Brown, damaging the front end of her truck, while seconds later, Pierson would be slammed from behind by the #31 Auto Trim Design Ford of Kristian Bracken, giving her damage on the rear end of her truck as well. As the field came around to complete Lap 3, Pierson was forced to head to pit road for repairs, with her crew deciding to merely remove the hood of her vehicle before sending her back out onto the track hoping that a caution would come out so they could catch back up. However, due to the lack of attrition, no caution would fly, as Pierson would finish a full fifty-four seconds behind the leaders when the checkered flag waved.

TRUCKS: Broken camshaft gives Samet Ozkan last-place finish at Texas; now tied with Greg Lee and Riley Spurlytube for most in series history

Samet Ozkan picked up the 4th last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Pronto Auto Parts 400K at the Texas Motor Speedway when his #16 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet fell out with camshaft problems after completing 11 of the 17 laps.

The finish, which came in his 63rd career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Season 4 Loadhandler 200 at the Bristol Motor Speedway when his #3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet fell out with engine issues without completing any of the 52 laps; 28 races ago. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 13th for camshaft issues and 2nd for the #16. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 18th for camshaft issues and the 4th for #16.

After trailing at Bristol, Ozkan would go the remainder of the season without finishing last again, but would also fail to visit victory lane, finishing a disappointing 26th in points. After a lackluster season, Ozkan would be moved from the Richard Childress Racing entry to the Dale Earnhardt, Inc. team in hopes the driver would fare better. It seemed the move was the right one as Ozkan would quickly earn a 12th place finish at Homestead in his debut for the team but the very next race it was back to disappointment as he'd finish 29th. In the series 100th race, Ozkan would be making his 56th career start and it would result in a 22nd place at Evergreen. Staying on the short tracks, Ozkan would finish a 30th at Mesa Marin, his worst showing all season, but the next event, Ozkan would rebound with his first Top 10 of the season, a 7th, at Martinsville. A 12th at Memphis would keep the team in high spirits and it would be followed with a season best 3rd at Pikes Peak and a 11th at I-70 before Ozkan would struggle once again with a 26th at Bristol in the last round.

The entry list for only the third time this season would be bumped up to 37 as Jamie Timber would attempt to make his third start of the season, after finishing 19th in his previous start at Martinsville. No drivers would have to worry about not making the race as all thirty-seven drivers would be able to fit around the 1.500 mile speedway. In qualifying, Tyler Kepman would score his first career series and league pole, posting a time of 28.832 seconds. Ozkan would struggle in qualifying, posting a time of 28.936 seconds, 0.104 seconds behind Kepman's time, placing him 21st on the starting line up. The #83 Gwaltney / FW Siebert Construction Ford of Max Anderson would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 29.059 seconds, who was 0.227 seconds behind Kepman's lap time.

On race day, Whitelion was determined to not finish last for the fourth time in his career as shi would quickly knock the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Mitchell Hodack into last in Turn 1 as Hodack would trail for the first circuit before knocking the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Dilan Ebrahimian into the final spot as Ebrahimian would trail for the next two laps before knocking the #34 Sprint Prepaid Phonecard Dodge of Brian Fox into last on Lap 4. Fox would trail the field for the next five laps before he passed and knocked the #29 Mopar Performance Dodge of Skyler Taylor into last on Lap 10 when the battle for last would come to a sudden end. At this point in the race, Ozkan had fought he way up through the field and had taken the lead and led Lap 10, when entering the backstretch, his engine let go, blowing up. Ozkan would pull to the inside of the track as the rest of the field would drive by, Ozkan would coast back to pit road before pulling behind the wall. It would take his team a few laps, but they knew the battle would be pointless, as Ozkan's truck was listed as "out" by Lap 15, with a broken camshaft being the cause for the sudden exit.

The remaining Bottom Five were; 36th was the aforementioned #29 of Skyler Taylor, 35th was the aforementioned #34 of Brian Fox, 34th was the #60 CAT Rental Stores Chevrolet of Christian Russel and 33rd was the #98 Porter-Cable Power Tools Ford of Al Lagasee.

SCRLASTCAR STATISTICS
*This is the first time the #16 has finished last in a Truck Series race at Texas.
*The only other time the #16 has trailed the field was in the Season 1 Sears Auto Center 125 at the Milwaukee Mile when Morgan McPherson's #16 Papa John's Pizza Chevrolet fell out with camshaft problems after completing 11 of the 20 laps; 97 races ago.
*The last time a driver has trailed the field due to camshaft issues was the NAPA 250 at the Martinsville Speedway when Derrick Edison's #26 Mittler Brothers / American Trucking Ford fell out after completing 5 of the 34 laps; 5 races ago.

After having sat out for three seasons, Kyle chose to compete in his first ever season in the truck series signing with Dale Earnhardt, Inc., winning two poles and scoring a best finish of 2nd at the road course at Heartland Park Topeka and finishing 15th in the final point standings.

The entry list for the sixth time this season would be the usual 36 as Jamie Timber's team have no plans to make anymore starts until the tenth race of the season at Texas, however due to the track being so small, it would mean that three drivers would be failing to qualify. In qualifying, Colin Cropley would score his second career series pole, posting a time of 18.312 seconds. The three trucks that would be sent home was the #86 Royal Crown Cola Dodge of Cameron Hathaway, the #31 Auto Trim Design Ford of Kristian Bracken and the #38 Menards Chevrolet of Ashton Tifft.

On race day, Gutierrez was determined to not finish last for the first time in his career as he would knock the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Mitchell Hodack into last as Hodack would trail for the first two circuits before knocking Kyle back to last for the first time on Lap 3. Kyle would trail for two laps in the final spot before he knocked the #60 CAT Rental Stores Chevrolet of Christian Russel into last on Lap 5, but Russel's stay in last would only be for one lap as he knocked Hodack back to last on Lap 6, before Hodack would knock the #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet of Michael Hoaks to last on Lap 7. While running in 29th, Kyle was battling with the #34 Sprint Prepaid Phonecard Dodge of Brian Fox coming out of Turn 4 when Fox would slide down the track and into Kyle, sending him down the track and into the #60 of Christian Russel, causing Kyle to spin out and hitting the inside wall headon. No caution would fly and Kyle would take last on Lap 8, keeping himself just in front of the leaders and would trail the field when the checkered flag waved.

TRUCKS: Caution free race at Pikes Peak gives series veteran Colin Dryburgh first last-place finish of his career

Colin Dryburgh picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Monday's NAPA 300K at the Pikes Peak International Raceway when his #55 Icehouse Beer Ford completed all 19 laps under power.

The finish came in his 44th career series start. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 28th for running at the finish and 2nd for the #55. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 118th for running at the finish and the 2nd for #55.

Dryburgh has been a part of the Rainbow Dash Truck Series since the start, competing in the full twenty race inaugural series scoring one win at the Milwaukee Mile and coming just 90 points away from Jay Barker in becoming the first ever series champion. A return in Season 2 would see Dryburgh win two more times, at Richmond and the fall event at Phoenix, but would finish a disappointing 34th in points after competing in only 17 of the events.

After choosing to sit out the past two seasons, Dryburgh is back competing full time, driving for a new team, Gloy-Rahal Racing, and looking to grab the championship he narrowly missed out on. In his first race back, Dryburgh would finish a disappointing 26th at Homestead, a 14th at Phoenix, a runner up second to Nathan Ormond at Evergreen, a 18th at Mesa Marin, a second runner up, this time to Nick Holiday at Martinsville before finishing 11th in the last round at Memphis.

Dryburgh would struggle in qualifying around the one mile track, posting a time of 27.313 seconds, 0.264 seconds behind Cropley's time, placing him 29th on the starting line up. Martinsville last-place finisher the #26 Mittler Brothers / American Trucking Ford of Derrick Edison would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 27.460 seconds, who was 0.411 seconds behind Cropley's lap time.

Gutierrez would then knock the #87 AER Manufacturing Chevrolet of Josh Harmon into the final spot on Lap 4, a position he would hold for only one circuit before he knocked the #7 Conely Rent-a-Car Sales Chevrolet of Tyler Kepman into last on Lap 5. Kepman would trail for two circuits before knocking the #98 Porter-Cable Power Tools Ford of Al Lagasee into last on Lap 7, but his stay in the final spot would be short lived as well, as Lagasee would knock the #99 Exide Batteries Ford of Chakat Whitelion into the final spot on Lap 8. Whitelion would trail for two laps before shi would knock the #17 Hastings Premium Filters Ford of Lucien Bianchi into last on Lap 10 before he would knock Edison back into last for the second time on Lap 11.

Edison this time would trail for three circuits before knocking Dryburgh into last for the first time on Lap 14. Dryburgh would remain in last for three laps himself before knocking Harmon back to last on Lap 17, a spot that Harmon would hold entering the final lap, and would make the move in Turn 2, knocking Dryburgh back to last as Dryburgh would have no time to recover and would trail as the field took the checkered flag.
Pierson would be moved up one spot due to Hathaway's exit but that is all she would do, finishing two laps behind the race leaders when the checkered flag waved, placing her 35th.

The remaining Bottom Five were; 35th was the aforementioned #87 of Josh Harmon, 34th was the #14 Circle Bar Motel & RV Park of Michael Brown, 33rd was the aforementioned #17 of Lucien Bianchi and 32nd was the aforementioned #26 of Derrick Edison.

TRUCKS: Broken Piston gives Cameron Hathaway second last-place finish in a row at Memphis

Cameron Hathaway picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Saturday's Memphis 200 at the Memphis Motorsports Park when his #86 RC Cola / King of the Hill American Dream Dodge fell out with piston problems after completing 12 of the 20 laps.

The finish, which came in his 33rd career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Season 4 Memphis 200 at the Memphis Motorsports Park when his #50 Grainger Ford fell out with camshaft issues after completing 12 of the 20 laps; 12 races ago. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 1st for piston and 2nd for the #86. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 2nd for piston and the 2nd for #86.

Hathaway is still making a name for himself in the SCRL, having found victory lane twice in his career but was still winless in the Truck Series after making his debut in Season 4. After driving for Roush Racing for one season, Hathaway was released from his ride, and he found a home driving for David Hodson and his Impact Motorsports team. Hathaway's second ever season in the Truck Series started with a disappointing 31st at Homestead, a 24th at Phoenix, 25th at Evergreen, 16th at Mesa Marin, before finishing 28th in the last round at Martinsville.

The entry list for the fourth time this season would be the usual 36 as Jamie Timber's team have no plans to make anymore starts until the tenth race of the season at Texas which means that no truck would fail to qualify for the second race in a row. In qualifying, Chakat Whitelion would score hir series tying third pole, posting a time of 23.266 seconds. Hathaway would once again struggle in qualifying, posting a time of 23.420 seconds, while only 0.154 seconds, it would place him 26th on the starting line up. The #0 Buyers Choice Chevrolet of Rogal Doran would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 23.592 seconds, who was 0.326 seconds behind Whitelion's lap time.

Hilda Pierson heads to pit road on the pace lap.
On race day, as the field would make it's pace lap, Homestead last-place finisher the #04 Chelsea Dodge of Hilda Pierson would suffer a flat tire and was forced to come to pit road as the field took the green flag, losing two laps before heading back out on track. With the lack of cautions coming out, it looked like Pierson would be heading to her second last-place finish in just six races, before the battle for last came to an end on Lap 12. At this point, Hathaway, who had fallen back to 27th, would slow in Turn 3 reporting he had lost power and would pull onto pit road and then into the garage, as the crew would look under the hood and found that the piston had broken, and with less than ten laps to go, there would be not enough time to replace it and send him back out, so the truck was retired, taking the final spot on Lap 16.

Pierson would be moved up one spot due to Hathaway's exit but that is all she would do, finishing two laps behind the race leaders when the checkered flag waved, placing her 35th.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 34th was the #12 Team ASE / Ultra Wheels Ford of Reggie Fogleman, 33rd was the #51 Garage Doors of Naples Ford of Zachary Fitzwater and 32nd was the aforementioned #0 of Rogal Doran.
