Chris Kyle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Sunday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 at the I-70 Speedway when his #43 Dodge Motorsports Dodge completed all 20 laps under power.
The finish came in his 35th career series start. In the Truck Series's last-place rankings, it was the 29th for running at the finish and 3rd for the #43. Across SCRL's top three series, it was the 119th for running at the finish and the 3rd for #43.
Kyle has been a long time driver in the SCRL, having roots to the league since the very start, even back in the old ONL(Oreius Nascar League) days, as he has picked up a total of 12 career wins in the entire SCRL, ranking him 11th all time while he also has won one champions, that being in Season 2 of his home country's SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series. After having sat out for three seasons, Kyle chose to compete in his first ever season in the truck series signing with Dale Earnhardt, Inc., winning two poles and scoring a best finish of 2nd at the road course at Heartland Park Topeka and finishing 15th in the final point standings.
For his second season, Kyle chose to switch teams and would sign to drive for Petty Enterprises. Kyle would finish 20th at Homestead, 11th at Phoenix, 20th at Evergreen, 31st at Mesa Marin, 31st at Martinsville, 26th at Memphis before finishing 18th at Pikes Peak in the last round.

The entry list for the sixth time this season would be the usual 36 as Jamie Timber's team have no plans to make anymore starts until the tenth race of the season at Texas, however due to the track being so small, it would mean that three drivers would be failing to qualify. In qualifying, Colin Cropley would score his second career series pole, posting a time of 18.312 seconds. Kyle would struggle in qualifying around the 0.543 mile short track, posting a time of 18.312 seconds, 0.835 seconds seconds behind Cropley's time, placing him 30th on the starting line up. The #1 Mopar Performance Dodge of Angel Gutierrez would be the last to get in on speed, posting a time of 19.361 seconds, who was 1.049 seconds behind Cropley's lap time. The three trucks that would be sent home was the #86 Royal Crown Cola Dodge of Cameron Hathaway, the #31 Auto Trim Design Ford of Kristian Bracken and the #38 Menards Chevrolet of Ashton Tifft.
On race day, Gutierrez was determined to not finish last for the first time in his career as he would knock the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Mitchell Hodack into last as Hodack would trail for the first two circuits before knocking Kyle back to last for the first time on Lap 3. Kyle would trail for two laps in the final spot before he knocked the #60 CAT Rental Stores Chevrolet of Christian Russel into last on Lap 5, but Russel's stay in last would only be for one lap as he knocked Hodack back to last on Lap 6, before Hodack would knock the #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet of Michael Hoaks to last on Lap 7. While running in 29th, Kyle was battling with the #34 Sprint Prepaid Phonecard Dodge of Brian Fox coming out of Turn 4 when Fox would slide down the track and into Kyle, sending him down the track and into the #60 of Christian Russel, causing Kyle to spin out and hitting the inside wall headon. No caution would fly and Kyle would take last on Lap 8, keeping himself just in front of the leaders and would trail the field when the checkered flag waved.
The remaining Bottom Five were; 32nd was two-time last-place finisher the #26 Mittler Brothers / American Trucking Ford of Derrick Edison, 31st was the #12 Team ASE / Ultra Wheels Ford of Reggie Fogleman, 30th was the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Dilan Ebrahimian and 29th was the aforementioned #75 of Michael Hoaks.
